Privacy & Data Collection

WriteGeniuses privacy policy and data collection

This notice explains the account, content, generation, payment, and operational data used to provide WriteGeniuses.

Last updated: July 17, 2026

Data you provide

Site settings, article briefs, keywords, links, generated drafts, and edits are stored for your workspace.

Service providers

AI generation uses Google Gemini through the Gemini API. Research may use Serper when enabled.

Access control

Workspace records are scoped to your authenticated account and protected by backend authorization checks.

Information we collect

  • Account information from sign-in, such as account identifiers, name, email, and avatar when provided by the authentication provider.
  • Workspace content, including site settings, Site DNA defaults, article topics, keywords, external links, target languages, tones, notes, generated plans, units, Markdown drafts, translations, image recommendations, and edit history saved by the app.
  • Operational records, including generation statuses, batch job identifiers, retry attempts, failure reasons, timestamps, and logs needed to diagnose workflow behavior.
  • Basic device and usage information that may be produced by hosting, analytics, security, or browser runtime infrastructure.

How we use information

  • To authenticate users, keep workspaces separate, and show the right articles and settings to the right account.
  • To generate article plans, paragraph and FAQ units, image recommendations, translations, retries, and article previews.
  • To maintain article history, progress, failure reasons, and editable Markdown drafts.
  • To improve reliability, debug provider failures, prevent abuse, and maintain product security.

Payments and credits

  • Credit purchases are processed by Creem. Payment details are submitted directly to the payment processor; WriteGeniuses does not store complete payment card numbers.
  • We receive and store transaction identifiers, product details, payment status, purchased credit quantity, timestamps, and limited customer information needed to deliver credits, prevent duplicate fulfillment, provide support, and maintain financial records.
  • Creem processes payment information under its own terms and privacy notice. Taxes and payment records may be retained when required for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance.

AI and research providers

  • WriteGeniuses uses Google Gemini models through the Gemini API to generate content plans, blog article units, X posts, translations, and image recommendations.
  • Article briefs, site context, keywords, links, generated plan context, source excerpts, and unit prompts may be sent to Google Gemini when needed to perform the requested generation workflow.
  • Specific Gemini model versions may change to maintain output quality, availability, cost, safety, or compatibility with the provider API.
  • Research queries and relevant search-result snippets may be sent to Serper when research grounding is enabled for a workflow.
  • Provider handling is also governed by each provider's own terms, privacy notices, retention controls, and API configuration.

Cookies and local storage

  • Authentication and session mechanisms may use cookies or browser storage to keep users signed in.
  • Theme, UI state, dev tooling state, and client-side preferences may be stored locally in the browser.
  • Some auth-related client tokens may be synchronized for SSR-aware route protection while backend Convex functions remain the authority for permission checks.

Retention and deletion

  • Workspace records are retained while your account or project remains active unless deleted through product controls or support workflows.
  • Deleting an article removes the article from your workspace view and associated product data according to the implemented backend deletion behavior.
  • Billing ledgers and transaction records may be retained when needed to maintain credit balances, prevent duplicate fulfillment, resolve disputes, or meet legal and accounting obligations.
  • You can request account-level access, correction, export, or deletion assistance by contacting support.
